Joel's paper on something to do with LOx/Methane rocket engines (ask him if you want to know more than that) got us a trip to San Sebastian, Spain, in May. Well, really it got him a trip on NASA's nickel, but I wasn't about to let him go alone. Many thanks to my mom for coming to keep the kids, and we jetted off for a fabulous week on Spain's western Basque coast, with a day trip up into France.
Joel turned 40 on April 12, so we viewed this trip as the official celebration of that momentous occasion (setting me up nicely for taking an equally awesome trip next year, when I hit that milestone ;)
